NTX Giving Day

  • Arapaho United Methodist Church 1400 West Arapaho Road Richardson, TX, 75080 United States (map)

Synergy Wesley is the campus ministry serving students at UT Dallas, Dallas College, and Collin College — and Arapaho was there at the beginning. We were the founding partner and the first home to this ministry, watching it grow from a small gathering into a thriving community where students find faith, friendship, and belonging.

Today, Synergy Wesley is growing and is out of space. They are embarking on a building expansion to make more room for students to gather, learn, and grow — and Arapaho has an opportunity to invest in the next chapter of a ministry we helped start.

What We're Funding

Our gift is aimed at one specific, tangible piece of the expansion: a garage door that opens the ministry space to the outdoors. This single feature does more than let in fresh air — it removes the wall between “inside church” and “everyone welcome.” With the door open, Synergy Wesley can:

  • Host open-air worship that spills out into the community instead of staying behind closed doors.

  • Serve students lunch — the kind of practical, everyday hospitality that turns a building into a home.

  • Welcome students who might never walk through a traditional church door, but will walk through an open one.

Why This Is Ours to Give

Arapaho's mission is “opening the doors wide for all to experience and embody God's healing and reconciling love.” It's hard to imagine a more literal — or more fitting — way to live that out than funding an actual door that opens a ministry space to the students it serves. This gift isn't just generous; it's on-mission in the most concrete way possible.

Supporting Synergy Wesley through this Giving Day also lets us honor our history as a founding partner while investing in where the ministry is headed next.

Synergy Wesley has been opening doors for college students since it began — with Arapaho as the church that helped open the first ones. This North Texas Giving Day, we're helping open a new one: a garage door that will turn a worship space into an open invitation, letting students gather, worship, and share a meal without a wall in between. Our goal is $10,000. Join us in opening the doors wide.”
