Throughout the year Arapaho's United Methodist Men organize early morning visits to the Austin Street Shelter to feed the clients. This is a great project for a family, a group of friends, a small group or an individual to get involved with working against poverty here in Dallas.

Who can go and serve? Anyone over the age of 12 as long as they are accompanied by their parent or guardian.

Here’s How To Help

  • We need volunteers to make food - sandwiches, boiled eggs and fruit (click “food instructions” button below). Additionally you may also provide pre-packed items like peanut butter crackers, granola bars or pastries.

    • Food donations should be brought to the church from Noon - 1:00 pm on the Saturday prior to the foodservice.

  • We need volunteers to serve. This group will meet at Arapaho UMC (East Doors) to help load the food and then caravan to Austin Street to provide a food service on a Sunday morning. The group meets around 5:30 - 8:00 am.
Please Note: All Food Servers may be required to wear a face covering and are subject to the rules of Austin Street.

  • If you would like to contribute toward additional needs for Austin Street you can make a financial donation here. (select Austin Street as your fund)
