At Arapaho UMC, our Leadership Board helps guide our church with wisdom, care, and accountability. The Board isn’t about representing one ministry or group—it’s about serving the whole congregation and keeping us focused on our mission: to be a creative, constructive, forward-leaning Christian community, opening the door wide for all to experience and embody God’s healing and reconciling love.

Board members partner with our pastors and staff to ensure the church lives into its vision, sets long-term direction, and stewards our resources faithfully. This includes responsibilities like caring for the mission and health of our community, setting goals, providing accountability, and making policy decisions. Members will serve a three-year term and attend monthly Board meetings (with at least two-thirds attendance expected).

Requirements for Consideration

  • Committed to Arapaho’s mission, vision, and core values, and willing to sign and live into the Leadership Board covenant.

  • Able to keep confidentiality, work collaboratively, and engage faithfully in prayerful discernment and decision-making.

  • Must have been an active member of Arapaho UMC.

  • Cannot be a staff member or family of a Board member, staff member, or clergy.

How Nominations Are Considered

Nominations will be reviewed by the Committee on Nominations and Leadership Development. In order to strengthen the whole body, the Committee prioritizes representation, diversity, and a balance of gifts as it prayerfully discerns the best slate of nominees to bring before Arapaho's Charge Conference meeting (date TBD) for approval.

We invite you to prayerfully consider whether someone you know might be called to serve in this vital way.
