Southern Lights Watch Party

  • Arapaho United Methodist Church 1400 West Arapaho Road Richardson, TX, 75080 United States (map)

Are you curious about how followers of Jesus can work together to imagine a world beyond patriarchy and hierarchy? You are invited to a watch party with discussion sessions for the annual Southern Lights conference in January 2024. For the past 19 years, Southern Lights has been a beacon of light for leaders and forward thinkers who take our call seriously to "...do justice and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God." Through sessions with a stellar line-up of speakers and musicians, as well as a community of fellow attendees, we will gather to think more deeply about our faith and how to live as followers of Jesus in today's fast-changing world.

Together, we will reimagine our faith as we move beyond patriarchy and hierarchy:

  • In our interior lives,

  • In our communities of faith, and

  • In the Scriptures.

Read more about the conference here.

We will gather in Room 40 for the event, and you can come and go as needed. Snacks will be provided, and meals will be on your own. A detailed schedule will be distributed, but generally, we will begin at 1:30 pm on Friday and continue through lunch on Saturday with a total of five speakers and discussions. We'll plan on going somewhere for lunch on Saturday to debrief all we have heard, and there will be an optional Sunday session at 9:00 am to hear the sixth speaker. Childcare will be available with registration. Please register below.
