Unison Parenting: Staying on the Same Page in the Journey of Parenthood
Parenting is one of the most rewarding and most challenging callings in life. Every parent knows the push and pull of wanting to nurture with love while also setting firm boundaries. Add the complexity of trying to stay on the same page with a spouse or partner, and the work can feel overwhelming. But what if there were tools to help you find clarity, unity, and hope along the way?
On Saturday, November 8 at 5:00 pm, join us at Arapaho UMC in Room 40 for a special session with Cecil Taylor, AUMC member, parent of grown children, seasoned youth ministry leader, speaker, and award-winning author of Unison Parenting: The Comprehensive Guide to Navigating Christian Parenthood with One Voice. Cecil’s book has been honored with the 2025 Independent Press Award for Parenting/Family and the 2025 Living Water Award for Christian Nonfiction, and his insights offer both encouragement and practical wisdom for parents at every stage.
In this 45-minute session with time for Q&A, Cecil will guide parents through the heart of Unison Parenting: how to stay united through the ups and downs of parenting, provide children with a strong faith foundation, and balance compassion with consistency to create a warm and stable home.
This event happens just before our monthly AUMC Families Gathering, so parents are invited to drop kids off early for childcare, enjoy the session, and then transition into Family Night. The cost is just $5 per child for dinner, and the session with Cecil is completely free.
Come be encouraged, equipped, and connected with other parents who are walking the same path.
