Finding Our Way in the Dark: A Lenten Reflection Guide
Lent begins in the shadows of late winter.
The days are still short. The light comes slowly. The earth looks dormant. And yet beneath the surface, life is stirring. Roots are deepening. Seeds are preparing. Something unseen is growing.
This year, we invite you to journey through Lent with our 40-day reflection guide, Finding Our Way in the Dark.
Lent mirrors much of real life. There are seasons when the lights go out—when plans unravel, uncertainty lingers, grief settles in, or the future feels unclear. Rather than rushing us toward quick answers or easy optimism, Lent teaches us how to remain present. It reminds us that darkness is not the absence of God, but often the place where faith grows strongest.
Throughout this series, we will explore what it means to:
Trust when we cannot see the whole path
Walk alongside fellow travelers in seasons of confusion
Slow down when life forces a different pace
Develop spiritual attentiveness in quieter spaces
Integrate what we learn through hardship
Follow Jesus faithfully through Holy Week
This guide is designed to accompany you from the first Sunday of Lent all the way to Easter morning.
How to Use the Guide
Each week centers on a theme from our Sunday worship series and includes daily Scripture readings and reflection questions. You can use it in whatever rhythm fits your life:
Spend 10–15 minutes each day reading the Scripture and reflecting on the questions.
Journal your responses throughout the week.
Use it with your family or small group.
Simply read the weekly section and return to it when you can.
There is no “perfect” way to move through Lent. The goal is not to complete something flawlessly, but to create space—space for honesty, space for prayer, space to notice how God is present even when the way forward feels unclear.
As the days gradually lengthen and Easter draws near, our prayer is that you will discover this truth: faith does not bypass the dark. It learns to walk through it with trust, courage, and hope.
