Fifth Sunday Presentation: Spiritual Practices

Join us on Sunday, April 29th for our Fifth Sunday Speaker! This month we will hear from Dr. Ruben Habito, Professor of World Religions and Spirituality at Perkins School of Theology. Dr. Habito is the author of five books on spirituality and will be sharing with us about what spiritual practices are and how we can incorporate them.

Dr. Habito is a former Jesuit priest turned master practicing in the Sanbo Kyodan lineage of Zen. In his early youth he was sent to Japan on missionary work where he began Zen practice under Yamada Koun-roshi, a Zen master who taught many Christians students, which was unusual for the time. He left the Jesuit order in 1989, and in 1991 founded the lay organization Maria Kannon Zen Center in Dallas, Texas. He has taught at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University since 1989.

Dr. Habito will be with us on Sunday, April 29, at 9:45am in the Sanctuary.
